ABOUT THE ARTIST

Having studied watercolor for over 27 years, Betty has been juried into over 100 juried/judged shows, taking first and second place awards in many of them. The joy of painting has gradually become part of her daily life, and although her goals include entering more national competitions, her main objective will always be to paint every day and enjoy every minute of it. Betty’s paintings now hang in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.

ART EDUCATION

1970-1976: Self-taught Oil Painting

1976-1999: Studied watercolor for over 20 years under the tutelage of nationally prominent artists: Carlton Plummer, Doris Holman, Skip Lawrence, Dominic DeStephano, Carolyn Grosse, Phil Metzgar and others, in the United States, France and England.

PUBLISHED

Works have been selected from international competitions to be included in “Fresh Flowers, The Best of Flower Painting”, January 1996, “Splash 5, The Glory of Color”, May 1998, “The Artistic Touch 3” , May 1999, “Splash 7, A Celebration of Light”, May 2002, “Splash 9, Watercolor Secrets”, October 2006, all books showcasing America’s top watercolorists. She has authored an article for Northlight Magazine, Spring 1999, where she was featured as Artist of the Month, and has been a featured cover artist with in-depth interview for Elan Magazine, May 2000.
